Dine-In Deals to Delight Customer Demand

Dine-In Deals to Delight Customer Demand

In an effort to revitalize dine-in sales, major fast food chains have introduced value meals and combo deals, a strategic move following a year-over-year decline in dine-in sales ranging from 4% to 6% during the FY24 October-December quarter.

This downturn was attributed to stiff competition and a surge in online delivery demand.

“Value meals can significantly impact dine-in sales, especially when offered exclusively for in-store customers,” says Ravindra Yadav, Partner at Technopak. “It’s not just about the price; it’s about enhancing the overall dining experience to make it more welcoming for consumers.”

Discover how fast-food giants like McDonald’s and KFC are reinventing the dine-in experience with tempting value meals. Dive into the full story as Ravindra offers a taste of the strategies being cooked up to bring customers back to the table.

McDonald’s India West and South, for instance, launched ‘McSaver Meals’ starting at ₹99, a significant reduction from previous prices of ₹230 for an Aloo Tikki meal, now at ₹99, and ₹321 for a McVeggie meal, now at ₹149. Similarly, KFC India introduced ‘lunch special’ meals at ₹149, featuring a variety of options. These aggressive pricing strategies, over 50% price cuts in some cases, are part of a broader initiative to lure customers back into restaurants and counteract the impact of online food delivery services like Swiggy and Zomato on dine-in sales growth.
